Fix your shit 16: Death, Grieving and Missing Loved Ones

Fix your shit 16: Death, Grieving and Missing Loved Ones

Posted on May 1st, 2026

I find it hard to believe what responses you get from people during the loss of a loved one.

At first you get the I’m so sorry for your loss, second is how did they die, 3rd is you need to move on and get over it and it's going to be ok and then I want this comes. Sometimes even as you sit quietly hours after the passing while you're still in disbelief of what’s happening.

I heard so many say that they are there for you and few last the duration of a month let alone the duration of your grieving and only God knows how long that will be and only you can try to move on past the impact that person has made on your life, not what others tell you to feel, do and get over it.

I encourage you to be what you would want from others as you go through this event that takes your breath away and leaves you gasping for air realizing how much pain your body can feel with a part of your life gone.

It’s only time that takes away the hurt and no set time has been given but you’ll hear others with their time frame until it happens to them then it’s different. In our book fix Your shit I address how people can tell you what your problem is but they can’t tell what their own problems are because it’s easy to tell someone but hard to look in the mirror of your own life.

My wish for life is I’m better today than yesterday and to try my best to fix my own shit not someone else’s. May we all have compassion towards others with love in our hearts and time to support as we said we would.

At the end of life on earth you will have impacted people you don’t even know you have, so walk gently on the planet with tenderness to all, understanding for things you don’t understand and an ear to listen to others as they explain what they are going through with compassion not responses.

Live well, God bless you and thanks for visiting the Planet
